| BIO:
I’ve been playing with cameras, off and on, most
of my adult life. My first serious exposure (pun
intended) was to 35mm match needle exposure, manual
focus, SLRs. I left photography for a while the
family was growing, although I always had some kind
of a (film) point and shoot around for recording
events. Then upgraded to some high end point and
shoots, the last one of which I loaned to a friend
going on vacation, and she lost it. (The camera,
that is) I replaced that camera with a 35mm SLR
(now with all kinds of automation), and of course
started to add lenses and various accessories. Then
I went back to the beginning for a while, and purchased
a couple of old Mamiya medium format TLR cameras,
and of course started adding lens and accessories
to that kit. (Photographers don’t really like to
take pictures; they like to collect things!)
Then along came digital: I owned several of the
early Canon G series cameras, before taking the
plunge and buying my first dSLR. I now use a Canon
5D Mk II, and have several L series lenses. All
the older cameras are gone now, but sometimes I
still miss the TLRs. Some of their benefits were
the exact opposite of digital capture. Medium format
film and processing is relatively expensive, and
the cameras had no automation at all. So it was
the photographer’s responsibility to get it right
the first time. But, when you got it right, the
quality was amazing! Now we can just keep shooting
and experimenting until we get it right, or give
up. The manual cameras were a great learning experience.
Oh, and another back in time experience is coming
up. I’ll be traveling, probably in Mexico, for the
month of January. I did a similar trip a couple
of years ago, and really started to resent my 5D
and the three lenses I took with me. For this trip
I’ll be going back to the Canon G series, either
a G11 or 12.
My main interests now are wildlife, landscape
and travel photography. For a couple of years I
did wedding photography, and enjoyed it, but health
issues made me give that up. (I just can’t keep
up with a new bride all day long anymore) I haven’t
been very active the last couple of years, but I
still have portfolios on several stock sites, and
they continue to earn a small revenue for me. I
love that photography makes me really stop and look
at what I’m seeing. I believe it gives me a greater
appreciation of life. And I also love that photography
is a continual learning experience. There are always
different (sometimes better, sometimes not so much
so) ways to do things. And I won’t even go into
post processing…………..

| BIO: I have had
an interest in photography for many years. But not
until the birth of my first child in '99 did I start
to really develop my new hobby. "It's tough
not to want to blast away into oblivion with the
camera when children are involved, their just to
weired not to photograph". I have been developing
my creative side for many years in the web development
business, and the introduction of photography just
seemed natural and made good business sense.
I'm very fortunate to live where I do, for a person
with a passion for landscape and nature photography
to live where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains
is candy to a baby.
My camera bag contains a Nikon D90 DSLR with a
growing collection of glass and a couple of my favourites
are my 24-85mm f/2.8 Macro zoom and 50mm f/1.8 prime,
Manfrotto tripod and ballhead, SB600 Speedlight
w/Gary Fong, Hoya Circular Polarizer and Cokin ND
Filter kit and various other gadgets. I also pack
a Pentax Optio WPi waterproof point and shoot it's
a must if you had kids! Now if I could add a 105mm
Macro Prime, a Tilt and Shift and a 400mm I would
be a very happy boy, broke but happy.

| BIO: Approximately
five years have gone by since I decided I wanted
to know more about taking photos than just pressing
the shutter release button. Starting with a digital
point and shoot camera and accessing information
on the Internet, I was soon shooting in manual mode.
Photography became a passion of mine and I eventually
purchased an entry level DSLR. I have since upgraded
to a Canon EOS 7D and of course acquired several
lenses and more recently, a flash unit.
A great thing about this hobby, whether it be through
my own experiences or appreciating the work of others,
is that the learning process never ceases. Even
when I'm not carrying a camera, photography has
changed the way I view my surroundings. Quite often
I find myself seeing things in more detail and from
a different perspective than I had in the past.
This, to me, is both interesting and "a lot
of fun!" Having the ability to capture these
images can be very rewarding. Oh, did I mention
how much "fun!" this is?
Currently, my skills are limited to capturing subjects
using natural light and, depending on conditions,
using some fill flash. My present goal is to become
more creative with the use of off-camera flash units
and other accessories. The "fun" never
stops.

| BIO:I’ve been into
photography for most of my life. I bought my first
camera a 35mm Nikon in about 1981. In 1983 I had
the opportunity to join the Canadian Military as
a Photographic Technician (Photographer). I spent
the next 21 years doing all manner of imaging. The
work was always interesting, challenging and rewarding.
I try not to limit myself to any one photographic
genre. I’m always looking for new and interesting
opportunities.
My primarily DSLR gear is Nikon but I do also have
a Canon G10 for when the weather is bad or I don’t
want to carry a lot of gear. I process my images
using Nikon Capture NX2, Photomatix Pro4, Photoshop
CS2, and just recently Lightroom.
